REVIEWS - Maxi Cosi - Quinny

The strange thing is, with pushchairs, you look at them and think one of two things – 1/ that’ll do or 2/ How sexy is that!

As dads, we’ve had to give up our interest in all that is ‘cool’. Gone are the days when we can discuss (read: compare) the best executive car to drive, or the best golf course, or the best place to buy spring onions (Aldi on a Wednesday, after 14:00). We have become Dads – and whilst that is very cool and all encompassing, in its own right, it’s not enough to beat the competitive spirit that is inherent within all of us.

So, in the absence of conversations about sexual conquest, size of bicep, intellectual capability and who is the ‘funny man’ no longer a contributory factor….what takes its place? The answer is the pushchair.

You see, the pushchair, whether you admit to it or not, is an extension of you. It is how you would like to be perceived in the world. Are you contemporary chic, or traditional rustic? Each of the extremes has its rationale and justification – it’s only the price tag you have to compete with…what does your child’s pushchair say about you, the parent?  Do you care? Well, you will care when you see the Quinny Buzz in action....

Anyone who has ever grappled to open a buggy whilst holding their toddler in one hand and their shopping in the other will sympathise – and understand the value of a pushchair that opens all by itself.

The Quinny Buzz does just that, at the touch of a button, using the same gas-spring technology that’s used in office chairs.  It’s a feature that has made the Buzz hugely popular with both busy mums and gadget-loving dads.

But automatic opening isn’t all that this pushchair has to offer.  Head-turning looks combine with a host of practical features: forward- or backward-facing pushchair seat, soft and comfortable seat with 3M Scotchguard finish, and easy harness adjustment.

The Quinny Buzz is suitable for use from birth and can be converted to a travel system with the addition of the Maxi-Cosi CabrioFix car seat, the safest seat in its class.  This seat, which can be used with a traditional three-point car seat belt or with IsoFix fittings in conjunction with an EasyFix base, is a multi-award winner, having collected accolades from virtually every consumer test.  The EasyFix base fixes into the car’s IsoFix points and also has an additional downward leg which braces the base against the car’s floor, improving stability and safety.  Once the base is installed, the seat can easily be clicked on and off for use as an infant carrier or as a travel system with the Quinny Buzz and a range of other pushchairs.

A separate footrest, together with sprung suspension makes the Quinny Buzz comfortable to ride in.  Small occupants are protected against the British weather with a multi-functional 3-in-1 all-weather set with wind breaks for the side panels and zip-on raincover or zip-on mosquito net, all included in the price.

Quinny has launched a range of new colours this year for this award-winning pushchair.  They are: Black – always a practical stylish and popular favourite; Pink – in two rich tones; Strawberry – bright and striking; and Capri – a calm sea-coloured blue.

The Quinny Buzz has a recommended retail price of £330 and is available from all good nursery products retailers.
