Pirates of the Caribbean 3

Meh. It was okay. Better than 2 but still not as 'fun' as 1. Depp was back on form and they have the usual shennanigans of who's double-crossing who? But really, Knightly? C'mon.

It's not so much her but the rubbish writing. Her rabble-rousing speech was just laughable. Yes, talking about freedom and dying with honour might work all right with a bunch of oppressed peasants but we seem to be forgetting they're a bunch of pirates. Scum of the Earth, you know.

And what was the point of the Armada, pirate fleet and sea goddess? There seem to be so many superfluous elements chucked in for the sake of a funny scene but then never used.

What would have been a better ending was if all the ships had gone head-to-head a la Star Wars Ep III and then Calypso take her revenge on everyone, leaving the Flying Dutchman and Black Pearl when Will took over the responsibilities.

And isn't there a flaw in the once in every 10 years thing? How is it every other bugger and his mum was able to walk on the Dutchman's deck whenever they wanted but she couldn't, hmm?

Keith Richards rocked!
